Everyone is of unique and sacred value, and everyone has the same dignity and the same rights."

Current and Future Needs

L'Arche Daybreak makes a long-term commitment to those who make their homes in our communities. Planning to provide for the current and complex changing needs of our community members is essential.

The Government of Ontario provides funding for the basic needs of our members, but the needs often outweigh existing resources. These include such diverse expenses like:

  • oil changes for our vehicles
  • snow removal
  • overnight nursing care
  • additional support for aging and changing needs for core members
  • accessibility for our homes
  • the costs associated with our community outreach and spiritual life.

As time goes on, L'Arche Daybreak also hopes to expand existing day programs to include adults of intellectual disability who continue to live with their families.

It is through the faithful relationships and kind support of our neighbours and friends that we are able to responsibly plan for the future; that we can continue to live the commitment we have made to those who place their trust in us.
