L’Arche Daybreak

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Accessibility Plan and Ontario Policies

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) is an Ontario law mandating that all levels of government, the private sector, and non-profit organizations follow specific standards to create environments that are more accessible to people with disabilities. This includes creating barrier-free access to services, employment, and physical spaces. The goal for the province is to be fully accessible by 2025.

L’Arche Daybreak is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.  We respect and abide by the standards set forth under AODA.

We believe in integration, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and by meeting our accessibility requirements under Ontario’s accessibility laws.

L’Arche Daybreak has created a multi-year Accessibility Plan as a framework for the activities that ensure the continued creation and maintenance of a barrier-free environment for our community and for the public. See the documents below for more details.
