Silver Anniversary Tea grows by 4!

This year we welcomed four new members to the Silver Anniversary Club at L’Arche Daybreak.

25 years ago, during the summer of 1988, as the Jann Lynn Nursing Home in Keswick was preparing to close, Hsi Fu, Heather, Michael, and Tracy moved to Daybreak and started an exciting chapter in our graced history. Hsi Fu, Heather and Tracy helped found the Corner House – a home specially designed and in cooperation with the Ministry of Community Services – to support young people with more profound disabilities, and Michael, also a young man moved to the New House. Right down the street from the Corner House, Carl moved in that fall.

25 years later, Hsi Fu has moved to Brookwood House and Carl is now our Community Leader. Heather has lost two good friends from those early days, Tracy and Alia, but continues to welcome people and form new assistants at the Corner House as a founding member. Michael is still at the New House, and has also touched many lives with his tenderness and presence.
We congratulate Carl, Hsi Fu, Michael and Heather on their 25 years of commitment and relationships at Daybreak!
